CHO TIED FOR SIXTH: At Henderson, Nev., Kathy Cho of Honolulu shot a 77 in the first round of the Las Vegas Founders' Legacy Junior golf tournament yesterday.
Cho was in a three-way tie for sixth place in the girls' division, three strokes behind three golfers tied for first place.
The event is conducted by the American Junior Golf Association.
MOVERS LOSE: At Tokyo, the Hawaii Island Movers lost their final game in Japan, 8-4, to Hosei University Sunday.
The Movers opened Alaska League play yesterday against the Anchorage Bucs in Alaska.
PUA MELIA GOLF: Applications are available for the 21st Pua Melia Invitational golf tournament, scheduled for July 24-25 at the Olomana Links.
The tournament is open to women, 18 and older, with an established handicap index of 32.2 or USGA handicap of 36 or less as of July 1. The $120 entry fee includes shared cart, practice round and awards luncheon.
Play is in championship, A, B, C and D flights. The deadline is July 7 and limited to 144 entries.
