Okay, I admit it… I’ve got a mild case of Blog Envy.

Whitney Matheson writes a blog for USA Today called “Pop Candy,” and she apparently gets to spend her entire workday producing content for it.

This reporter, on the other hand, must produce feature stories and a weekly column (amongst other things) in addition to focusing on “So Necessary…”

Lucky lady.

Matheson also gets some really cool stuff sent to her in the mail, like the life-sized BK King mask she’s sporting in the picture.

The good news? Those masks aren’t just some promotional item sent to big-time bloggers. You can buy them online.

I think I know what I want to be for Halloween this year!

When the Wu-Tang Clan performed at the Blaisdell Arena (that’s a video from the show, above) in September, they promised fans a new album was on the way.

Yes, “8 Diagrams” is still on track to be released in 2007, although XXLmag.com reports it won’t be until December.

It appears the Internet went a little nuts yesterday over a report that suggests the existence of a new sex tape, starring none other than Britney Spears.

According to In Touch Weekly, Spears hooked up with someone on the Big Island a few months back:

A guy who met Britney while she was on vacation in June has told In Touch that he made a video of them having sex — and the tape might become public.

The 28-year-old man, who was living on Hawaii’s Big Island at the time, says he left his camera rolling without Britney’s knowledge as they became intimate at a bungalow at the Four Seasons hotel on the Kona-Kohala Coast on June 7.

So the guy was living on the Big Island “at the time,” which means that he doesn’t live there anymore? And was it Spears’ room in the Four Seasons that served as the “set” for the film, or did they go back to his?

That might explain how he was able to get a video camera set up, supposedly without her knowledge.

Anybody know who the mystery man is? Anybody care?

First it was a slap in the face from Aerosmith, who canceled a concert on Maui in order to accomodate their fans in Chicago.

They flew to Honolulu the next weekend to play a private party at UH-Manoa.

Don’t get it twisted; those moves were all about the money – more money to be made on the mainland, and more money to be made from the corporate gig.

Now Jimmy Buffett rolls into town for a show at the Waikiki Shell on Thursday, and fans had better make sure they read The Rules before showing up:

>> No coolers, large bags or backpacks.

>> No signage larger than 12 inches by 12 inches.

All those demands come from Buffett’s management, by the way.

I wonder if they’ll confiscate people’s cell phones, or kick fans out for taking a picture/video with them?

And here’s the kicker, folks. The Rules also demand that fans refrain from tailgating or pre-concert picnics in the parking lot.

Sure, you can still picnic in Kapiolani Park, or tailgate in the surrounding neighborhood, but stay away from the Shell.

There’s one place I won’t be on Thursday, that’s for sure.
