There’s a lot of stuff going on Friday, but I’m still going to try my best to get to Red Lion University for Missing Dave’s eighth anniversary party.
Singer Daena Dempsey and guitarist Keith Monzen, pictured above, and the rest of the band will be joined on stage by Pimpbot, LoveChile and Busekrus starting at 8 p.m.

One of the newest must-reads in my RSS reader is “Choose Our Own Adventure” by Ryan “Hawaiian Ryan” Matsumoto and Jennifer “Jenn Meleana” Hee.
In my opinion, their new travel blog contains two key ingredients necessary for success: Personality and Content.

Keola Silva had to win three fights in one night if he wanted to win Friday’s 140-pound grand prix during “X-1: New Bloods” at the Blaisdell Arena.
And that’s just what he did, defeating Chris Kutzen and Willy Dela Cerna before facing off against Jared Iha in the championship of the eight-man tournament. While Iha was impressive in his wins to get to the final, it was clear that Silva was the better fighter on Friday night.

November is turning out to be a good one for hip-hop fans.
DIG Lifestyles and Echelon Entertainment have announced a rescheduled date for last month’s Talib Kweli show that never was (and ended up being replaced by Gregory Issacs).
Kweli will now perform at Pipeline Cafe on Nov. 24, less than two weeks after Mos Def graces the stage yet again at the Kakaako nightclub.
No word yet on ticket prices for the 18-and-over show, but expect to find presales at DIG Lifestyles, Fitted Hawaii, Jelly’s, Pipeline and online at www.presaleticketsonline.com.

This just in from DIG Lifestyles:
“Our deepest apologies, but the in-store meet and greet with Mos Def has moved to Sunday at 5 p.m.”
The signing session will still be filmed for future use as part of Mos Def’s first-ever live concert DVD.
His people have also ignored my interview requests, even though I was told he would be down for doing some press in advance of his show.
Guess braddah is having a little TOO much fun with his R&R this week.
