Get those appetites ready… it’s just about time to eat for a good cause, as the annual fundraiser now known as “Flavors of Honolulu” gets ready to kick off at the Frank Fasi Civic Grounds near Honolulu Hale.
More than 20 local restaurants are participating in this year’s event, which used to be called “Taste of Honolulu.” Abilities Unlimited replaces Easter Seals as the primary organizer of the event after 15 successful years.
There’s a lot more about the three-day event in today’s Star-Bulletin, including a list of participating restaurants, selected “Chefs of the Day” and celebrity cook-off schedule.
Entertainment for the weekend includes Simplicity, Maunalua and Rolando Sanchez on Friday; eight0eight, Jordan Segundo and Go Jimmy Go on Saturday; and Kapena, Tia Carrere and Daniel Ho and the Makaha Sons on Sunday. A complete entertainment schedule will appear in this week’s HiLife section of the Star-Bulletin.
Want to score some free tickets to the event? Organizers are still looking for volunteers to help out all weekend.
Sign up here, or call Nic at 532-2115. Volunteers will get a commemorative T-shirt and four three-day passes to “Flavors of Honolulu.”
