RumFire opens in Waikiki [VIDEO]

There it is – the central bar at RumFire inside the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.
After $4 million in construction and a four-month closure, the room reopened on Dec. 29 with a special fundraiser for the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children’s Sex Abuse Treatment Center. Read more about the night in my entry from earlier this week.
Once again, I’ve got two versions of the video. One is a lower resolution copy that I posted on YouTube; the other, higher quality version, is posted on Vimeo.
At least I think I finally figured out the optimal settings for encoding my work.
Anyone else go to RumFire yet?

YES! Been to RumFire for the first time and it is simply amazing. Awesome drinks, delicious food, welcoming staff…the opportunity to enjoy all of this along with a breathtaking view of Diamond Head and the Pacific Ocean…what more could you ask for! I highly recommend this restaurant to both locals and tourists alike. As a local resident, it is truly an opportunity to rediscover Waikiki and all it’s beauty. Enjoy and we’ll see you there. Aloha.
I’m the artist who made the fire pits for RumFire. They’re called “the Great Bowl O Fire” and if it’s okay, I’d just like to leave a link here so that anyone who’s interested knows where they can be sourced: http://www.johntunger.com.
I’m still trying to get some good photos of the installation at RumFire, so if you have any or know someone who does, I’d love to see them!
Thanks,
John
