“CHIC SOIREE” DRAWS CROWD TO P.F. CHANG’S: Kyle Mitsumori, left, shared a booth for four with Holly Tri, Colette Ching and event promoter Daryl Oyadomari on Friday as the latest edition of “Chic Soiree” drew a upscale crowd of veteran nightclubbers to P.F. Chang’s China Bistro in Kakaako. Oyadomari was celebrating his birthday as well as presenting the party, and he got some good-natured kidding about finally being “old enough to drink legally” and throwing away his “fake ID.” Truth is, he passed that milestone a while ago, but everyone joined in singing “Happy Birthday” around midnight and cheering him on as he blew out the candles on his cake.f
Vicki Horiuchi, fourth from left, was congratulated by Sato Kitagawa, left, tennis pro Rusty Komori, Vicki Liao and Kelly Thomas after she told them that her boyfriend of 21⁄2 years had proposed, then showed them the ring to prove it. Komori added that although it was a happy day for the couple, it was a “very sad day” for her many other male admirers.
Hinkie Han, left, arrived fashionably on time to celebrate being newly single, with her gal pals Kim “Kimmie” Russell and Shelly Obata. All she had to say about the circumstances leading up to her newfound freedom is that she never wants to hear her ex’s name again.
Courtney Sue-Ako, left, and 2008 Narcissus Queen Catherine Wong Jayne admired a replica Xi’an terra-cotta soldier that enhances the restaurant’s “old China” decor. Sue-Ako is home for the holidays on winter break from the University of Washington and says she is looking forward to graduating in May.
Raymond Ho Sr., left, and his son, Raymond Ho Jr., talked with Star Miranda and Lehua Sutterfield at a reserved table in the main restaurant area. The father and son came over from their club, the Hush Boutique Lounge in Waikiki, to check out the party and wish Daryl Oyadomari a happy birthday. They are teaming up with Kathleen Larson and On Board for a Cure to co-host “Pink Diamonds,” a fundraiser to help increase breast cancer awareness and education, tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Hush.8
