HAZZARD HOSTS CLASSY 'CHRISTMAS ROYALE': The requested dress was "classy/elegant" as Honolulu Realtor Marti Hazzard, right, hosted "Marti's Christmas Royale," a luxurious pre-Christmas party, Dec. 20 in Mariners Cove. Guests enjoyed a perfect dock-side view of the 2008 Festival of Lights Boat Parade and then went inside for a gourmet Christmas buffet, champagne, Pravda vodka martinis and assorted non-alcoholic beverages. Marisa Short joined Hazzard in giving party greeter and caviar server Wayne Kimball a big Christmas hug.

Personal shopper Susan Fusuma was escorted in from boat-watching by man-about-town John Michael White, left, and financial wiz Ash Matar.
Bob Hazzard, center, Marti's husband and owner of "Blue Hawaii," one of the boats in the parade, wished Bobby Carpenter, left, and Dr. Garrett Saikley a happy holiday season. Marti said later that her husband bought the house so that he would have a convenient place to moor his boat. Carpenter and Saikley also live on the water, but both chose to arrive by car.
Elvis impressionist Ron Short struck a pose with Santa's Helpers/Bond Girls Eden De Luna, left, and Cynthia Hada after disembarking from the "Blue Hawaii." Short performed as Elvis in the 2007 boat parade, but with a new Bond movie out last month he and Marti Hazzard decided they'd shock everyone by having him portray Bond this time. It was a good choice -- the James Bond/" Christmas Royale" boat placed third overall in the judging.

Kona Kamekona III, standing, stepped outside to check on Chilean consul Gladys Vernoy, left, Kristi Komeya and Mirella Monascalco as they chatted on the lanai after the parade. Kamekona had helped decorate the house -- even climbing on the roof -- and then stayed on to help oversee the caterers and household staff. Guests received "taster kit" bottles of Pravda vodka, martini glasses and special-run James Bond chocolate bars as mementos.
