HELM STARS IN "MELE" 1. Donalyn Dela Cruz, left, talked backstage with guitarist Kamuela Kimokeo, Raiatea Helm, Linda Chock and hula dancer Capella Williams before Helm took the stage to headline Bishop Museum's final "Moonlight Mele" lawn concert Aug. 27. The lawn was filled with people and the weather was perfect as Helm sang a beautiful set of Hawaiian and hapa haole standards. She opened with "Kalama'ula" and closed with "'Alika."
COUNTDOWN FOR LIANA 2. Leilani Keough, left, Andy Baldwin and Regina Kawananakoa were among the well-wishers who attended the farewell party hosted by Mrs. Hawaii 2009 Liana Green-Wright and her husband, Matt Wright, Aug. 21 at Oceans 808. Liana goes to Arizona next week for the Mrs. America pageant.
"STATEHOOD" PARTY 3. Kumu Kahua cast members Stephanie Keiko Kong, left, Joshua Weldon, Maile P. Rondero, front center, Ryan Sutherlan and Tyler Tanabe had plenty to celebrate after "The Statehood Project" opened to a sold-out house two Fridays ago. Call 536-4441.
ROMANO'S HAPPY HOUR 4. Darren Yasui, left, and Emi Espinda welcomed guests Charles Degala and Debbie Rego to the VIP launch party for Romano's Macaroni Grill's "Happy Hour" menu Aug. 24. A great pizza offer, $3 drinks and $5 appetizers should make this a hit. Call 356-8300.
"TAG" AT THE ROYAL 5. Sharon McPhee, in pink, met Lorenz Sell, chief energy officer of Find Me Fit, and clinical psychologist Mimi Andgelic at the Tag the World "Red Carpet Luau" Aug. 23 at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel.
