'TheBoat' won't float in today's economy

The Oahu commuter ferry known as "TheBoat" appears to be a losing proposition.

Touted as a timesaving way of commuting between Kalaeloa and Honolulu, TheBoat fares are integrated with TheBus fares, and coupled with low ridership, the idea is foundering in high seas of red ink.

With the city budget suffering as it is, it's time to rethink the viability of the project.
