Lash envy has sent companies back to basics to devise mascaras that capture some of this wow factor without the labor of other methods.
Dior's Iconic Mascara ($27) relies on silica microbeads to coat each lash to create volume, while Givenchy has revamped the brush for its Phenomen'Eyes High Precision Panoramic Mascara ($27). The brush's rounded tip can reach the roots of the tiniest baby lashes for even coating all around the eyes. And for those with steady hands, Estee Lauder's TurboLash All Effects Motion Mascara ($30) does all the volumizing, curling and separation for you with its vibrating brush.
For girls who can't make up their minds, Sephora always has testers available at its stores, but if going where others have gone before is just too icky, the boutique has introduced a limited-edition Lash Stash ($35) of 10 miniature mascaras. The great thing about the variety is you'll probably find ones that suit different moods and occasions.
The event takes place 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the salon at Restaurant Row, where there will be light pupus, drinks, a silent auction and entertainment.
Hair cutting and styling is free with your Beautiful Lengths donation. Reservations are being taken at 585-7400.
Healthy donated hair will be put to good use, to craft high-quality wigs that will be given to women affected by hair loss from cancer treatments.
Hair must be a minimum length of 8 inches, measured from just above the elastic band of a ponytail to the ends. Wavy/curly hair must be straightened to be measured properly. Hair may be colored with vegetable dyes, rinses and semipermanent dyes. Unfortunately, hair that is bleached, permanently colored, chemically treated or more than 5 percent gray cannot be accepted.
