FRIDAY

"Don't Tell Mom"

NextDoor / 548-6398

To the disappointment of many in Chinatown, popular nightspot NextDoor has yet to regain its liquor license.

That hasn't stopped the club's owners from hosting BYOB events every so often, including this Friday during the neighborhood's monthly "First Friday" festivities.

The Nocturnal Sound Krew's DJ Jami will headline an evening of old school hip-hop and house that starts at 9 p.m. Friday; cover is $10 at the door.

SATURDAY

"Haleiwa Rock Show"

Haleiwa Gym / groups.myspace.com/haleiwagymrockshows

All ages are invited to the Haleiwa Gym on Saturday for an early evening of local rock.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, with scheduled sets by Time's the Enemy, Purple Kooks, The Resorts, A Sedated Nation, Smitz, Black Square and My Sleep Therapy. Honolulu Police Department officers will also be on hand to keep an eye on the kids. Cover is $8 at the door.
