Painter and ceramist star at Koa Gallery

Muted abstract "landscapes" that drift away and modular stoneware assemblages bearing the textures of nets, combs and tree pods comprise new works by painter Erica Luecke and ceramist Yoko Haar at the Koa Gallery.

Luecke earned a painting degree in Berlin and moved to Honolulu in 2003. Haar, born and raised in Japan, is known for her use of natural objects and the abstractions of nature in her work.

The show runs through Nov. 13. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays to Fridays and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays. Koa Gallery is located on the Kapiolani Community College campus. Call 734-9374.
