Big Isle police ID road fatality
Big Island police identified a 24-year-old North Kohala woman who died Saturday from injuries in a one-car crash as Janelle Ann Morse of Hawi.The accident occurred on Akoni Pule Highway near the six-mile marker.

Kapahulu crash leaves 6 injured
Two people were in critical condition and four others were also injured in a head-on vehicle collision early yesterday in Kapahulu.Emergency crews responded to the 2:45 a.m. call in front of 3373 Campbell Ave. A woman in her 30s and a man in his mid-20s were taken to the Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.
A man in his early 20s was in serious condition, while a woman in her early 30s and a man in his early 20s were in stable condition, said Emergency Services Department spokesman Bryan Cheplic.
Another male was taken to the hospital in stable condition, but no further information was available on him.
Man faces charges in chase and crash
Prosecutors charged on Monday the man who allegedly disrupted the Honolulu Marathon Sunday by crashing a stolen pickup truck near the beginning of the Lunalilo Freeway.Douglas Akeo Jr., 44, was charged with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle, first-degree criminal property damage and drug charges.
His bail was set at $75,000.
Police pursued the stolen truck through Waimanalo and Hawaii Kai. Akeo was arrested after he was weaving in an out of the contraflow lane on Kalanianaole Highway, police said.
Police said that at one point the truck jumped a curb and entered the race course, but no one was on the course at the time, and there were no injuries.
CENTRAL OAHU
Pair allegedly forced a free ride
Police arrested a 33-year-old man who allegedly tried to force another man to give the suspect and a friend a ride.Police said that shortly before 8:45 p.m. Monday, two men got into a car driven by a 22-year-old man while the car was stopped in traffic in Mililani.
Police said the suspects demanded they be driven to another area or else they would hurt the driver. The victim drove to a nearby shopping center and abandoned his vehicle to call police.
Police found one suspect wandering the shopping center, and arrested him on suspicion of kidnapping and unauthorized entry into a vehicle. The second suspect was still at large.

Haleiwa man accused of assault
Police arrested a 29-year-old man after he allegedly damaged his girlfriend's eardrum.On Nov. 10, the suspect and his girlfriend had a fight at their Haleiwa home, police said. The suspect allegedly slapped and punched the 38-year-old woman, rupturing her eardrum, police said.
The suspect also allegedly threatened her with a hammer. The suspect was arrested Monday on suspicion of second-degree assault and first-degree terroristic threatening.
