Robber hits twice at same business

Police are looking for a man in his 20s who robbed a Moiliili business twice in two days after the first robbery went unreported.

The man, wearing dark sunglasses and a black bandanna over part of his face, walked into the business at 3 p.m. Friday, police said.

After threatening the lone female employee with a knife, he fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The woman did not report the robbery, police said.

The robber returned to the business at 2:30 p.m. Saturday while the same employee was there — again with a knife — taking another undisclosed amount of money. The business was not identified.

The robber is described as 5-feet-10 and weighing 150 pounds, police said.

Man accused of shooting wife

Police have charged a 40-year-old man, who was the subject of a CrimeStoppers bulletin, with the attempted murder of his estranged wife.

Eugene M. Tupuola, also known as "Monte," allegedly fired a gunshot through a window after he and his estranged wife had argued at a party June 4 in West Oahu, police said.

Tupuola was charged yesterday with first-degree attempted murder, first-degree reckless endangering, and firearms charges.

Police arrested him Friday night after he turned himself in at the Kapolei police station.

His bail was set at $250,000.
