Blood bank slates October drive

The Blood Bank of Hawaii has scheduled blood drives next month at Oahu high schools and colleges, saying it is looking to young donors to help maintain an adequate blood supply.

Faculty and students 18 or older can donate. Students age 17 can donate with a signed form. The drives are scheduled for:

» Pearl City High School, Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

» Campbell High School, Friday, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

» Mid-Pacific Institute, Oct. 8, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

» Waialua High School, Oct. 15, 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.

» Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama, Oct. 19 and 20, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

» Mililani High School, Oct. 20, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

» Nanakuli High & Intermediate School, Oct. 21, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

» Leilehua High School, Oct. 29, 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

» Waipahu High School, Oct. 29, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

» Kailua High School, Oct. 30, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

College blood drives, open to faculty, students and the public, will be held as follows:

» Brigham Young University-Hawaii, Thursday, noon to 5 p.m.

» Hawaii Pacific University-Downtown, Oct. 5, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

» Honolulu Community College, Oct. 6, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

» University of Hawaii at Manoa, Oct. 7, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Oct. 9, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
