The Aiea accident happened at 8:45 a.m. as the man was walking makai in a crosswalk at the Pali Momi Street intersection, police said. He was originally listed as being in serious condition, but it was changed to critical.

The driver, a 37-year-old woman, was headed west on Kamehameha Highway. She was not injured.
