Soda can allegedly used as weapon

Police arrested a 39-year-old man who allegedly robbed a manapua truck driver Tuesday by hitting her in the face with a soda can in Waianae.

Police said the man wanted to purchase some items from the manapua truck, but he didn't have enough money. So the man allegedly struck the 59-year-old female driver in the face with a can of soda so he could take the items, police said. This happened just after 4 p.m.

The woman suffered a major cut to the lip, police said.

Police later found the man and arrested him on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
