Matson to raise rates for Hawaii service by average of 3.8%

Matson Navigation Co., the state's largest ocean shipper, said today it will increase rates for its Hawaii service by $120 per westbound container and $60 per eastbound container, effective Jan. 3.




Coast Guard and fire department search off North Shore for missing kayaker

A Coast Guard rescue helicopter and the Honolulu Fire Department resumed a search this morning for a 53-year-old kayaker reported missing off Waialua at about 7:30 p.m. yesterday.
