Kauai man killed in traffic accident

KEKAHA, Kauai — Officials on Kauai say an early morning traffic accident has claimed the life of a Lawai man.

He's been identified as 18-year-old Max Agor.

Officials say Agor was thrown from his pickup truck when the vehicle went out of control and flipped over several times on Kaumualii Highway near St. Theresa's Church at about 1:15 a.m.

A girl in the truck also was ejected and landed on boulders on the side of the highway.

Agor and the girl were taken to Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The girl was medivaced to The Queen's Medical Center in Honolulu. She was reported in stable condition.

Officials say speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash.
