Wie opens with 1-under 70 at Michelob

Honolulu's Michelle Wie opened with a 1-under 70 today at the Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill and is currently tied for 33rd, some six shots off the pace of leader Lorena Ochoa.

Wie carded five birdies and four bogeys for her round with half the field still on the course. She went as low as 3 under for her opening round that saw her manage only nine pars. Her average driving distance was 253 yards, she hit 11 greens in regulation and only seven fairways as she continues to struggle with her driver. She had only 26 putts.
