The City Council has restored $6 million in the city’s operating budget for the final phase of curbside recycling on Oahu.
The revised budget proposal will be considered on Wednesday, the council’s self-imposed deadline to complete work on the operating budget for the upcoming fiscal year.
The funding had been deleted in an early draft of the budget.
Changes were announced today by Council Chairman Todd Apo and Budget Chairman Nestor Garcia.
The revised budget also includes lower increases in parking rates at the Honolulu Zoo and Kapiolani Park.
Council members also are reviewing various proposals that would include lower proposed increases in real property tax rates.
