University of Hawaii third baseman Vinnie Catricala was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 10th round of the Major League First-Year Player Draft today.
Catricala was the 293rd overall selection.
Kirk Wetmore, a left-handed pitcher from Bellevue (Wash.) Community College who signed with the Rainbows for next season, was taken in the 11th round (No. 335 overall) by the Cleveland Indians.
Pearl City had two recent graduates drafted as Bryson Namba was selected in the 12th round (No. 370 overall) by the Toronto Blue Jays and catcher Carlton Tanabe was taken in the 24th round (No. 713 overall) by the Seattle Mariners.
Pitcher Cameron Bayne, a 2006 Saint Louis School graduate, was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 13th round.
Hawaii redshirt sophomore Sam Spangler was taken in the 20th round (No. 595 overall) by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
