Honolulu police are looking for the driver of the white 1993 Nissan pickup truck, who fled after a fatal crash on the Moanalua Freeway early this morning.
Police said the truck was Waianae-bound, just before the Ola Lane overpass at 1:45 a.m., when the driver lost control, skidded across the freeway and collided with a concrete barrier.
A 21-year-old woman in the truck bed was apparently ejected from the pickup and pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver fled leaving the body of the woman and the truck, police said.
Speed was apparently a factor in the crash.
Police are asking anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers or Traffic Division investigators.
The accident closed the Waianae-bound lanes of the Moanalua Freeway for several hours this morning while police investigated the crash.
