The 4-year-old boy found in the trunk of a car Saturday was identified as Brayden Mara-Villegas of Ewa Beach.
Sometime before 3:30 p.m., police said Mara-Villegas went out to play while his mother cleaned the house. When she could not find him, her brother drove around to look for him. As he was driving, a warning light on the dashboard came on. When he went to check the tail lights, he found Mara-Villegas unconscious in the trunk.
The boy was taken to Hawaii Medical Center West where he died.
An autopsy will be performed today on Mara-Villegas to determine the exact cause of death.
