Gov. Linda Lingle has nominated Honolulu District Court Judge Edwin C. Nacino to serve as a Circuit Court judge.
If confirmed by the state Senate, Nacino would fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Karen Blondin.
Lingle said today that Nacino is ideally suited to be on the Circuit Court bench. She cited his judicial experience, as well as his experience as a prosecuting attorney, a deputy corporation counsel and a private attorney.
Before becoming a District Court judge in 2005, Nacino was a partner with the law firm of Roeca, Louie and Hiraoka.
Earlier in his career, Nacino was a Honolulu police officer. He is a graduate of the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law.
