Mayor Mufi Hannemann says the four county mayors and other management groups have reached agreement with four state worker unions on new public worker contracts.
Hannemann would not say what was in the proposal, but said it was a starting point for everyone to hold a Monday bargaining session. The mayors, the UH, public schools and state hospitals cannot agree to new contracts without Lingle also agreeing.
Yesterday the Hawaii Government Employees Association put on its Web page a survey saying that its bargaining team had approved a 5 percent reduction in pay or one furlough day.
