Kaiser bans smoking at all sites in the state

Smoking has been banned at all Kaiser Permanente Hawaii clinics and administrative facilities statewide.
The policy, announced last week as part of the national Great American Smokeout, applies to employees, members and visitors on any Kaiser Permanente property.
The Moanalua Medical Center campus has been smoke-free since Jan. 1, 2006.
"Kaiser Permanente stands for prevention and we are committed to providing a safe, healthy environment at all of our facilities statewide," Winona White, Kaiser Permanente vice president for human resources, said in a news release.
For help to stop smoking, nonmembers and members may visit Kp.org/quitsmoking or www.kp.org/healthylifestyles. Specialists are available to provide individualized care on a Telephone Quit Line: 432-8000 on Oahu, (877) 432-8970 on the Big Island and Maui. A patient's medical history and electronic medical records are integrated into counseling.
