Farrington finds a way

Alvin Faamausili had seen enough.
The Farrington cornerback put an end to a spectacular touchdown show by Castle's Shaydon Kehano by returning an interception 35 yards for a touchdown to help the Governors seal a 42-26 win over the Knights last night at Kaiser Stadium.
The game was close until the final minutes, when Farrington scored touchdowns on defense and special teams.
Farrington (8-2) finished third in the Oahu Interscholastic Association Red playoffs and secured the final state-tournament berth. The Govs will travel to Kealakehe next week to play Honokaa in the opening round.
TIME FOR STATESFirst-round matchups in the upcoming state football tournaments. First-round games are Nov. 20, with the second round Nov. 27. The state championships are Dec. 4 at Aloha Stadium:Division I Division II

Castle (6-5) closed the season with an iron-man performance from several two-way starters, including Kehano, who had 11 receptions for 150 yards. The senior scored on two touchdown passes and a 72-yard punt return, the latter bringing Castle within 28-20 with 2:20 left in the third quarter.
Farrington, which outlasted Castle 19-8 in early September, punted on its next two possessions before Faamausili had tight coverage on Kehano's out route. The senior's pick and return, with a vault over a tackler at the goal line, was a backbreaker that gave Farrington a 35-20 lead with 1:15 to play.
"That interception just broke the game wide open," Castle coach Nelson Maeda said. "The pass was a little late."
Farrington's pass rush did the rest, with five sacks: two by V.J. Fehoko, and one each by Seth Ilae, Keith Chargualaf-Tuillapea and Justin Vele. Moments later, Shane Dsio stripped the ball away on Castle's kick return and ran 27 yards for a touchdown.
Castle tacked on a 65-yard bomb from Jaymason Lee to Lowen Rogers with 10 seconds left.
"Responding from the loss (last week to Kahuku), being very disappointed, it was great to be back on the field," Farrington coach Randall Okimoto said.
Akagi all right
Leilehua receiver Kamana Akagi showed up for practice yesterday, and watched from the sidelines.
Akagi suffered a severe concussion in the Mules' loss to Kahuku on Friday night.
