"He looked great. He had a nice left hook and combination to the body and the head," Blane Yoshida, Escalante's coach, said about the victory over Ruiz. "Brian Viloria (ranked No. 1 in the WBO) was the last Hawaii boxer to win this tournament, and he stopped by to see the semifinals."
Malloe will talk about his coaching career prior to arriving in Manoa and give insight on Hawaii's defensive line and special teams play while taking questions on the Warriors' 32-29 victory over Fresno State yesterday.
Also scheduled to speak are Duane Kurisu, chairman and chief executive officer of Hawaii Winter Baseball and Joel Kim, coach of the Palolo Boxing Club.
The luncheon is open to the general public and begins at 11:30 a.m. with the program starting at noon.
Adam Maciejewski delivered the game-winning goal for the Seasiders, who improved to 2-7-1 for the season.
The Silverswords dropped to 1-9-1.
