Bench warrant possible for Dizon
BOULDER, Colo. » A judge plans to issue a bench warrant once prosecutors file paperwork against Detroit Lions linebacker Jordon Dizon for allegedly failing to show proof he completed community service for a drunken driving conviction.Boulder County prosecutors said Friday they will file a contempt of court motion against Dizon, a former Waimea and Colorado standout, because they never got a notice that he completed 24 hours of community service. The 22-year-old pleaded guilty in September for an April arrest in which police say his blood-alcohol level was 0.097, above the legal limit of 0.08.
The Lions drafted Dizon six days after the arrest.
Dizon's attorney, Peter Schaffer, says the documents were faxed and the court should have them.
Rainbow Wahine fall to Spartans
The Hawaii women's basketball team lost to San Jose State last night, 54-50 at Walt McPherson Court in San Jose.

Hawaii remained winless in the conference and shot 33.3 percent from the field against the lowly Spartans (2-13, 1-1).
Natalie White scored 21 points -- including 5-for-5 on 3-pointers -- for SJSU, which shot 7-for-11 overall from long range.
The Wahine head next to Boise, Idaho, for a game with the Boise State Broncos tomorrow at 4 p.m. Hawaii time.
Barahal to speak at Quarterback Club

Dr. Jim Barahal, president of the Honolulu Marathon Association, tops the list of guest speakers at tomorrow's weekly Honolulu Quarterback Club luncheon.Barahal will report on last month's 36th running of the event, the third-largest marathon in the United States behind the New York and Chicago marathons.
Peter Ryan, director of golf economy studies for SRI International and the World Golf Foundation, will give a sneak preview of the Hawaii Golf Economy Summary report, which will be presented to the Hawaii Golf Alliance on Tuesday.
Teri McKeever, head coach of the women's swim team at the University of California - Berkeley, will also speak. McKeever was an assistant coach for the U.S. Olympic team in Beijing last summer, and three of her six pupils who competed at the Games won a total of eight medals.
The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Pagoda Hotel's International Ballroom. The program starts at noon.
Erik Shoji named all-tournament
In his first collegiate action, Stanford freshman libero Erik Shoji earned all-tournament honors alongside his brother, Cardinal junior setter Kawika Shoji, at the season-opening UCSB/Elephant Bar Invitational men's volleyball tournament yesterday at Santa Barbara, Calif.The Shojis were among four former Hawaii prep standouts in the starting lineup for No. 8 Stanford (2-1) as it advanced to the final. The Cardinal lost to No. 5 Cal State Northridge, 21-30, 30-20, 30-27, 30-20.
Erik Shoji, (Punahou '08) had a match-high 16 digs in the final and Kawika Shoji (Iolani '06), a second-team All-America setter as a sophomore last year, had 27 assists at setter. Freshman Brad Lawson ('Iolani '08) had seven blocks and sophomore Spencer McLachlin (Punahou ' 7) had 12 kills.
BYUH's Wily scores record 40 points
Latoya Wily scored a Brigham Young-Hawaii school-record 40 points in a 76-66 loss to Hawaii Pacific last night.Wily surpassed BYUH's previous 33-point record of Lei Lolohea set last season against Dixie State. She shot 14-for-24 from the field and 12-for-18 at the foul line.
Mana Hopkins scored 18 points to led the Sea Warriors (5-7, 2-0 PacWest). BYUH fell to 4-7 overall and 0-2 in league play.
