There were a lot of exciting plays in the NFL yesterday with several former Hawaii players in the thick of things.Atlanta place-kicker Jason Elam atoned for a short miss earlier in the fourth quarter to knock through a 48-yarder as time expired to give the Falcons a heart-stopping 22-20 win over the Chicago Bears.
Perhaps the strangest play involved Arizona lineman Travis LaBoy, who was hurt on a play late in the game that led to a 5-yard offside penalty. It allowed the Cowboys to get into field-goal range and send the game into overtime.
Not to worry for the Cardinals -- they blocked Mat McBriar's punt in OT and recovered it in the end zone for a game-winning touchdown. It was the first blocked punt for McBriar in 300 attempts.
