Rainbow Wahine drop to 0-3

Amina Njonkau scored 16 points and Beatrice Bofia added 14 points and 17 rebounds to lead Arizona past Hawaii 62-50 yesterday on the final day of the Bank of Hawaii Invitational women's basketball tournament at Afook Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo.

The loss dropped the Rainbow Wahine to 0-3.

Megan Tinnin had a team-high 11 points for Hawaii, and Keisha Kanekoa added eight points and eight assists.

Arizona finished with a 2-1 mark in the tournament, as did Toledo and Loyola Marymount.

The Rainbow Wahine are off until the Waikiki Beach Marriott Classic, Nov. 28-30 at the Stan Sheriff Center.

» In another Bank of Hawaii tournament game, Jessica Hanato and Hina Kimitete scored 16 points each to lead host Hawaii-Hilo to an 87-48 victory over Chaminade.

Samantha Saito scored 21 points and Felicia Alves added 18 for the Silverswords (0-2).

The Vulcans improved to 2-0.
